Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Weak Wi-Fi in some areas — One guest noted the Wi-Fi was weak and had a short range, which could be an issue if you need reliable internet in your room.
  • Street-facing rooms can be noisy — Rooms with windows facing the street (e.g., rooms ending in 03) can be subject to Hanoi's street noise, though the street itself is relatively quiet compared to others.
  • Some rooms lack natural light — Room types vary – some have no window (rooms ending in 01) and others have a window to the hallway (rooms ending in 02), which may not suit those wanting daylight.
  • 2-star simplicity — This is a modest property without the amenities of higher-star hotels. Guests note it may lack the 'splendour' of pricier options, but is acceptable for the rate.

“Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. We'd happily stay here again when in Hanoi. It's very close to the airport.”

“Everything was good – the staff, location, rooms, cleanliness, price, and services.”

“Friendly and helpful staff, great spot in the Old Town, they arranged our airport transfer. Only downside was the Wi-Fi, which felt weak and had a short range.”

“Hanoi Eclipse is great value for money. The staff were kind and very helpful. We booked a 3-day Halong Bay tour through them. The boat was good, but on the second day we were dropped at an island and initially given a straw hut instead of the big air-conditioned bungalow we booked. After the island staff called the hotel, it was sorted within an hour, though we were told not to use the AC. We complained when we got back, and the manager arranged a meeting with the tour guide, resulting in a $20 refund and a free airport shuttle worth $15. Breakfast was standard but decent. We've stayed in many places across Asia, including 5-star hotels, and the service here matched them. On our last day, the manager even invited us to have lunch with her and the staff. We've since received a follow-up email from the manager apologising again for the tour issues – great service all round.”

“The hotel arranged our airport pickup and was always ready with taxi help and advice throughout our stay.”

“The staff were incredibly helpful and spoke good English. When our independently booked Halong Bay trip was cancelled, they recommended an excellent alternative and even emailed us personally afterwards, apologising for a power cut and wishing us well. The rooms were fine, but the bathroom was clean and very modern. Breakfast was excellent.”
